Was I a good rider here - Saddle Up Again

The Good Rider May Not Be the Most Educated Rider Who is the good rider? When I was in elementary school, my family lived near a state park with bridle trails, and my brother and I had horses.  Several days a week we'd meet some of our classmates in the state park and and go riding together.  I remember one classmate named Corrine who had a tall Palomino and Corrine had an … [Read more...] about How to Be a Good Rider

A Great Horse Trainer for Someone Else Could Be a Bad Horse Trainer for You And It May Be Up to You The best horse trainer for you is the trainer who can convey a good relationship as well as good training to you.  If you're not willing to work with the trainer or perhaps you can't work with the trainer to help that process, you may be disappointed.  If you expect your horse … [Read more...] about Who’s the Best Horse Trainer — For You?

Our Riding & Training Goal

“If you are fond of a horse and wish to do him a favor — train him well. Teach him good manners, good habits, both in the stable and under saddle. You need never worry about the future of such a horse if for any reason, you may have to part with him. You assure him of friends wherever he goes. Perhaps the greatest kindness you can do any horse is to educate him well.” — Tom Roberts

Welcome to Saddle Up Again

What’s SaddleUpAgain.com

SaddleUpAgain.com is intended for those returning to horseback riding later in life, and those who are returning to riding for the first time.

Maybe you rode horses as a child and now you have the time and the money to ride again.  Maybe you always wanted to ride horses and now you have the opportunity.

What can we remember from our younger experiences that will help us now? What can we do to ride our horses better with bodies that are not as nimble and strong as they once were?

I’m on that journey right now, and I’ll share what I’m learning and what others are teaching that I find valuable. If you’re on a similar journey, I hope you’ll share what works for you.
