Better Horse Training Means More Mental and Less Physical as We Get Older
Better horse training as we get older means doing more with our minds and less with our physical strength. It means thinking ahead to avoid trouble rather than waiting for trouble to happen on the ground or in the saddle. If you’re interested in better horse training tips for a better horse and better riding experiences, then please participate in our community. This is Paul Sherland talking a little more about this.
Summary of Better Horse Training Video:
– Howdy friends, my name is Paul Sherland with SaddleUpAgain.com, and I’m going to be talking about training your horse. When I was younger, I didn’t worry that much about training my horse. Most of the training I did was in the saddle. And if I got into a problem, I could usually ride out of it.
I found out that as I got older, that was harder. And if I ran into a problem, if I had a problem in the saddle, it was easier for the horse to throw me. And if it was easier for the horse to throw me, it was easier for me to get hurt.
After six broken ribs, a bruised lung, a concussion or maybe several concussions, I found that I heal more slowly as an older person. It takes longer for me to get back in the saddle again after I’ve been thrown. And it’s increased my motivation to not get thrown.
But that can also get you chilled or maybe create fear and then you’re not willing to do things with your horse. And I’ve been through that, too.
So, the focus of the website is to come up with ways or experiment with ways to train your horse better. To make your horse safe or to make your experience with your horse safer so that you won’t get thrown, and to increase the enjoyment that you have with your horse. I think we’re all in this because we love our horses, we love the time that we have with our horses, so why not make it better? Why not make it more enjoyable for you and also a good experience for the horse? And that’s the kind of thing we’ll be talking about.
Welcome to a Community for Better Horse Training as We Get Older
We’ll be looking at ways to get this done without using a lot of muscle and using a lot more mind. So if that’s useful to you, I invite you to participate. I hope that you will. And I hope you’ll share your experiences and some things that have worked for you, and maybe some things that haven’t worked for you. So we can all have a better experience, a better time, with our horses. Thank you very much and I appreciate your participation. Thank you.
